On the boards

A glimpse into what we're designing now. This collection showcases projects in development—where ideas are still taking shape and creative direction is being defined. From early concept studies to material palettes, these works in progress reflect the thoughtful process behind every Haven project.

Historic Cottage Update

This lovely two-bedroom cottage, full of character and history, had been modified over the years by various owners. When the current owner prepared to retire, they asked Haven to create a quick concept rendering to show how the home could be thoughtfully updated. Our design proposed a new gallery-style kitchen, two refreshed bathrooms, and an elevated dining area opened to the kitchen—blending charm with modern livability. The images helped the home sell quickly, even in a challenging market

Moon Garden Project

We’re designing an intimate outdoor living space as a new amenity for one of our vacation rental clients. The Moon Garden will serve as a quiet sanctuary, thoughtfully integrated with the architecture and spirit of this historic home. The image shown captures an early stage in shaping the mood and direction of the project.

Timeless Hill Country

Haven was invited to assist in the development of a color and finish concept for a nearby municipal building. Our goal was to create a grounded, welcoming, and enduring palette—one that feels worthy of a civic space and rooted in its surroundings. We selected a warm, timeless scheme inspired by the region’s architectural heritage: limestone, natural patina, and the sun-washed tones of the surrounding grasslands.

Vintage Update

When the owners of a charming Tudor-style home in Dallas were preparing to list their property, they turned to Haven for strategic design guidance. Drawing inspiration from the home’s architectural character while tailoring updates to appeal to a younger market, we provided a comprehensive style guide outlining colors, materials, and design direction.

With our recommendations in hand, the owners refreshed the existing kitchen with updated finishes, new countertops, modern hardware, statement lighting, a new sink and faucet, and a built-in refrigerator. These thoughtful upgrades not only enhanced the home's appeal but also led to a quick sale—and a strong return on their design investment.

Commercial Office Planning Strategy

A glimpse of our gray matter at work. Haven was invited to reimagine a portion of a commercial office building under development as a shared workspace. This early concept sketch explores how the space could be used more efficiently. By applying strategic spatial planning, we significantly increased the number of rentable offices, introduced dedicated meeting areas, and improved overall flow—enhancing both functionality and revenue potential from the original plan.

Timber & Time Cottage

An elevated rustic vision for a postwar-era cottage. This concept builds on the charm of the owner’s existing Swedish settee, layering in updated furnishings and finishes to create a cohesive and inviting dining area. We love the juxtaposition of the original vaulted wood ceiling and heirloom pieces with a curated mix of modern and vintage elements—bringing warmth, character, and timeless style to the space.
